Tyree Roberta Henry, 68, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 15, 1957, Tyree was the beloved daughter of John Henry and Alberta Henry, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her longtime partner, Kevin Minor, and her brothers, John Henry and Jimmy Henry.

Tyree was a woman who left a lasting impression wherever she went. She was known for being caring, bold, and straightforward — the kind of person who would tell you the truth, but always from a place of love. She was truly the life of the party, and her presence could brighten any room. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit was strong, and her love for her family ran deep.

Tyree worked for many years with the Harrison County Board of Education and later continued working in the food industry. No matter where she worked, Tyree gave her best. She was dependable, hardworking, and took pride in everything she did.

She had a deep love for cooking and was known as an amazing cook. Her food was more than a meal — it was comfort, it was home, and it was love. Family gatherings were never complete without something made by her hands.

Tyree loved children and always had a soft spot for them. When her children were growing up, her home was a place where the neighborhood kids gathered. There was always laughter, people coming and going, and something cooking. As the years went on, she became a mother and grandmother figure not only to her own family, but to many others. She was there for her children’s friends and their kids, often becoming the neighborhood mom and grandma to so many who needed one. Her home was a place where people felt welcomed, safe, and cared for.

She didn’t just raise her own children — she helped raise a village.

Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She poured herself into her family and helped raise many of the children in her life, stepping in when she was needed most. Her love, strength, and presence shaped the lives of those who grew up around her.

Tyree leaves to cherish her memory her children, Rainie Henry and her significant other; Alica Henry and her significant other, Travis; and Arron Henry and his significant other, all of Clarksburg, WV. She is also survived by her brother, William “Will Will” Henry of Phoenix, AZ; and her nieces, Sonya Kennedy and Timika Henry of Phoenix, AZ, whom she raised as her own daughters.

She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Zaniyah Henry, Zy’Honna Henry, Zariyah Henry, Zion Henry, Leilani Henry, Memphis Henry, Quentin Durst, Willow Henry, Tatum Henry, Ace Joyner, and many other loved ones and friends whose lives she touched.

Tyree was the heart of her family — strong, outspoken, loving, and protective. She gave so much of herself to those around her and carried the weight of her family with pride. Her love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable cooking will live on through all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
