In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Shuttleworth will be cremated. A graveside service with full military rites will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV.

Victor (Vic) Shuttleworth, Jr., 78, of Romines Mills (Lost Creek) passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, in the West Penn Burn Center, Pittsburgh, PA. following a house fire on February 5, 2026.
He was born in Clarksburg on July 24, 1947, the eldest son of the late Victor Shuttleworth, Sr. and Maxine Alma White Shuttleworth.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Morten Shuttleworth, whom he married on December 25, 2001. Victor used to joke that he could never forget his wedding anniversary because it was on Christmas.
Also surviving are his children, Shane Cook (Donnie) of Ellijay, GA, Leslie Renee Hall (James Donald) of Ellijay, GA, Jennifer Nandell Riffey (Travis) of Hemet, CA, Todd Stewart Shuttleworth (Jennifer Waters) of Flatwoods, Wendy Victoria Shuttleworth Maple (Rick Schwing) of Cameron, and Victoria Elizabeth “Lennox” Shuttleworth of Hickory, NC; son-of-his-heart, Paul A. Burnell of Romines Mills and step-sons Stephen M. Howard (Gretel Thorpe) of Bowling Green, OH and Jeffrey “Aaron” Radcliff of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Destiny (Thomas) Pappas, Jessica (Gene) Rice, Shanese ( Corey) Larmon, Marissa Hall, Nadia Hall, Xavier Watters, Dylan Dean, Hannah Brown, Aleah Shuttleworth, Tiana Burnell and Ty Burnell, Hayden Jefferson Riffey and Kathryn Violet Riffey; his great grandchildren, Ayden Baxter, Lakelynn Baxter, Waylon Thatcher, Nova Dean, Karmeron Pappas, Emersson Pappas, Peyton Dotson and Kyleigh Rice. In addition to his nieces and nephews, Vic is also survived by his brother, Joe A. Shuttleworth of Romines Mills; his mother-in-law, Shirley N. Morten of Cross Lanes; his former spouses, Shelia Lasyone Wilson and Pauline Tucker Shuttleworth; and his dear friend, Jane Upperman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie Langford Briscoe; grand-daughter Shawn Bass; grandson-in-law, Corey Larmon; and father-in-law, Alan W. Morten, Jr.
Victor was a proud graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School class of 1965 and was an active participant in his class alumni activities. He was a United States Air Force veteran, having enlisted at the age of 18 during the Vietnam War. He served as an aircraft mechanic in Thailand, England and multiple U.S. Bases. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant post 20 years of service. After the military, he attended vocational training via the G.I. Bill and became HVAC certified. Prior to his formal retirement, Victor owned Gnatty Creek Heating and Air, was a long-haul trucker, and operated Rock & Roll Trucking.
Like his family, he was a member of Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church. In the weeks prior to his death, Vic had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Victor was very proud of his family history and their role as Revolutionary War Patriots and in the founding of the state of WV. He expressed his pride in his Scottish heritage with membership in the NCWV Scottish Heritage Society and Clan Stewart Society in America. He enjoyed attending Highland games and festivals and was known to lift his kilt to participate in more than one Bonnie Knees Contest.
He was a licensed amateur radio operator and had previously served in a variety of leadership positions in the local Ham operator organization. His passion was shooting and collecting firearms. He was a champion marksman who loaded his own ammo and spent many a weekend at the firing range. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of both HAM radio operation and gun safety with the younger generation.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Shuttleworth will be cremated. A graveside service with full military rites will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV.
