Ed also leaves behind his brother, Theodore “Ted” Lemasters and his wife Linda. Ed was known as Poppy or Pops to his 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. One special girl who called him Poppy was Avery, his neighbor whom he loved and adored as family. He adored them all. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Ed was a United States Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam. After returning home, we went to work and retired from Union Carbide Corporation. Ed was a member of Shriners York Rite, a 32nd Degree Mason and enjoyed his time and travels with them. He was raised Methodist and attended the Baptist church in his adult years. He was a Christian and enjoyed hearing God’s word. He loved music, dancing, camping, fishing and boating. When at home he loved to sit on his porch with his buddy, Guss his dog, which passed over the rainbow bridge just after dad was admitted to the hospital. He also loved it when good friends and extended family came to visit. He enjoyed watching the birds and his flower gardens. He and mom enjoyed taking cruises, his last one being his trip to Alaska in 2024.
We would like to thank the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center and all the doctors, nurses, aids and care givers for the wonderful care they have given to our father over the years. We are especially thankful to Dr. Westfall and her team on the 5th Floor CLC, for all their care during this difficult time.
