Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 24, 2025. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.

John Edward Wilt, 62, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at his residence.

He was born in Clarksburg on May 25, 1963, a son of the late John C. “Pete” and Dorothy Junkins Wilt.

His is survived by his wife of 27 years, Marjorie Wilt; two stepchildren, Thomas Vincent and his wife Rachel of Erie, WV and Trista Hooper and her husband Bryan of Lansing, MI; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; one brother, Mark Wilt of Clarksburg; and one niece, Gabrielle Wilt of Clarksburg.

He was also preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Tamara Davis.

Mr. Wilt was a 1982 graduate of Liberty High School and was a diesel mechanic by trade. He worked for the US Army Reserves D.D.D./Theta and Allegheny Power in 2004. John then bought Woodson Pallet Company in 2008 which he owned and operated for 10 years before closing and retired from Frontier Communications as a fleet mechanic. He was a master Mason and member of Hermon Lodge No. 6 A.F. & A.M. Clarksburg.

John loved the outdoors and riding 4-wheelers. He loved just sitting on his back porch with his buddy “Bandit” who was always with him. His lifelong dream was to visit Alaska, but his health prevented him from being able to.
