Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Honoring her wishes, Mary will be cremated following the funeral. Following cremation, inurnment services will be held by the family at the Bridgeport Cemetery. Mary Ellen Buckhannon Dillon Lightner, age 95, of Clarksburg, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family following an extended illness. She was born June 20, 1920 in Custer Addition, a daughter of the late Joseph Eli Buckhannon and Elizabeth Adams Buckhannon.

Mary was preceded in death by two husbands, Frank Dillon and James Lightner.

Surviving are four daughters, Sharon Huff and Betty Johnson, both of Clarksburg, Elizabeth Hendershot of Taylor County, and Frankie Allen and her husband Jerry of Good Hope as well as Janet Conrad, whom she thought of as a daughter, and her husband Mark of Nutter Fort; 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Clevenger and Betty Harper both of Stonewood, along with her loving, faithful companion “Sammi” her dog.

In addition to her parents, and her husbands, Mary was preceded in death by four daughters, infant Carolyn Sue Buckhannon, and Nancy Dillon Blaniar, Mary Jane Losh, and Gertrude Fogg; three sons-in-law, Earl Huff, James Losh, and Bill Johnson; and 8 brothers and one sister.
