It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to take care of you. You were a sweet, Kind-hearted person. My thoughts and prayers at this difficult time to your family and friends.

Mary Lou and Bill were two people that I just loved and admired as a child growing up. They were the neighbors that we could depend on. They were church family that we loved so dearly. I loved going down the dirt and gravel road to your house and seeing the milk cows and sitting on porch. Your family was just simply - family to us. As the years and miles have separated the Allman's from the Randolph's, the memories have NOT faded. Neither has the love that I always felt from your family. What a blessing it was to grow up in Rockford with you! Until we meet in heaven!

Sometimes in life you can credit a person with truly making a difference in your life. That would be my Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Bill who took in the 5 children of her sister Dora for the summers of our youth. To be helped by giving, loving, generous people during a vulnerable time in your life is priceless. I’m sure it impacted my success and character in life beyond measure, not to mention the sheer joy of being there. Where else could you scoop up guppies from a stream, run through cornfields, swing on a tire, and drink milk from a metal glass that sure didn’t taste like anything we ever had. Thank you Aunt Mary Lou for your love, kindness, and generosity. May God bless you and comfort your loved ones as they grieve.

My Aunt Mary Lou was so loving and giving in word and in deed. Over the many years she never complained about having us under feet, and the many meals she prepared were always delicious, especially her homemade bread and jam. I was blessed to know Aunt Mary Lou and look forward to a great family homecoming with our sweet family in heaven with the Lord. Randolph Williams, son of Martha Ann Williams

Lynn, Joyce, Nancy, Rusty, I am so sorry for your loss, Aunt Mary Lou meant so much to all of us and her love and kindness will always be remembered. I hope you can find comfort in the memories you shared with her, knowing how deeply she was loved. Remembering the moments that make her so special, her caring for other others and the way she made family feel close. Aunt Mary Lou was a major part of my life, I was so privileged to be with her each WV hunting season for a few years. She would fix me a lunch to take with me up on the hill worried I’d get hungry if I stayed out all day., but the greatest part of being there was our morning talks. Please know that you are not alone in the grief and those memories we have of Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Bill will always be with us. Love to all, Bill

Thinking of my kind, loving and generous Aunt Mary Lou. A poem by Mary Oliver that may have been appreciated from your porch swing: What Gorgeous Thing I do not know what gorgeous thing the bluebird keeps saying, his voice easing out of his throat, beak, body into the pink air of the early morning. I like it whatever it is. Sometimes it seems you’re only thing in the world that is without dark thoughts. Sometimes it seems the only thing in the world that is without questions that can’t and probably never will be answered, the only thing that is entirely content with the pink, then clear white morning and, gratefully, says so.

We were saddened to learn that Mary Lou had passed. Connie and I enjoyed our visits with her and earlier with Bill when we were visiting in the area. May all family members find comfort in many treasured memories. 🙏💖🙏
