Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.   The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Lang and Reverend Karen Brown presiding.   Interment will follow in the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.

Albert Thurl Romine, 79, of Mt. Clare, WV, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the United Hospital Center, following an extended illness.

 

He was born on Hastings Run, on November 13, 1936, a son of the late George Clement Romine and Olive Mae Goff Romine.

 

His wife, Carolyn Mae Butcher Romine, whom he married on January 24, 1957, in Winchester, VA, resides at their home on the Mt. Clare Road.

 

Mr. Romine is survived by one son, David Bruce Romine of Hastings Run; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Harris and her husband James of Anmoore, and Sharon Diane Gerber and her husband Bryan of Marietta, OH; nine grandchildren, Justin Romine, Staci Cadalzo and her husband Travis, Elijah Romine, Lee Romine, Cheryl Romine, Brianna Gerber Amos and her husband Justin, Ethan Gerber, Lauren Gerber and Aaron Harris; two step grandchildren, Reese Amos and Slade Amos; four great grandchildren, Brayden Gerber, Kinley Amos, Casen Amos and Addison Cadalzo; and one daughter-in-law, Suzette Romine Ferrari.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Romine was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Sheldon Romine and grandson, Ryan Eric Gerber.

 

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by one brother, Reverend Ralph Luther Romine; two sisters, Donna Joan Baker and his twin sister, Adaline Myrl Sandy.

 

Albert was a graduate of Lost Creek High School Class of 1956. He was a Union Plumber for Local 152 Plumbers and Pipefitters and retired in 1998 after 40 years of service. He held membership with the Local 152 Plumbers and Pipefitters of Morgantown for 55 years. He was very proud to have been a part of the construction of the FBI Center, Ruby Memorial Hospital and several local schools. He was a member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, the Lost Creek Senior Citizens Satellite, Harrison County Master Gardeners and Volunteered for the Bi-County Nutrition Center.

 

Albert loved his family farm, one of the oldest farms in Southern Harrison County. The farm has remained in the Romine family for over 200 years.

The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Lang and Reverend Karen Brown presiding.

 

Interment will follow in the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.
