Anthony Joseph “Joe” Messineo, 69, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 in Fairmont, WV. He was born on August 31, 1954 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Dominick A. and Shirley Hickman Messineo. Joe married his wife of 50 years, Marjorie Lynn “Margie” Critchfield Messineo, on September 6, 1975. She survives at their home in Clarksburg. Also surviving Joe are one son, Anthony “Joe” Messineo Jr and wife Mandy of Mt. Clare; one grandson, Caleb Messineo and companion Taylor Turner of Mt. Clare; three brothers-in-law, Tom Critchfield and wife Becky, Kevin Critchfield and wife Janet; and P.J. Critchfield; one sister-in-law, Kim Critchfield and companion Kirk McVicker; as well as several nieces and nephews. Joe was a 1973 graduate of South Harrison High School. He started working at Sunny Croft Country Club as a groundskeeper at the age of 19 and retired just last year with 50 years of service to the golf course. He loved golfing, animals, and antique cars. Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St, Nutter Fort on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A public graveside will be held in the Sunset Memorial Park, Mt. Clare, on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Madia presiding.
