Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, where a Prayer Service will be held at 5:30pm to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Betty Jo Ferrando, born July 31, 1925 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Myrtle E. Murry Fazekas, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the United Hospital Center.

 

Betty was married for 54 years to Joseph Ferrando, who preceded her in death on August 31, 1999.

 

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Michael H. Fazekas.

 

Betty is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Sue) Sink and her husband. Dr. John D. Sink of East Point, Florida; one son, Michael Ferrando and his wife, Mary Ferrando of Clarksburg; three granddaughters, Laura Freeze and her companion Steve, Lois Nicholson and her companion Duane Gump of Mt. Clare, and Lisa Padden and her fiancé Robert Calrns of Chicago, IL; one grandson, Joseph A. Ferrando and his wife, Lynn Ferrando, also of Clarksburg; 11 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Golden and her husband Adam Golden, Brian Ferrando, Zachary Ferrando, Alyssa Ferrando, Toni Callender, April Knight and her husband Bryan Knight, Brooklyn and Preston Stalnaker, Jacob Hutson and Hannah Nicholson, all of Clarksburg, and Michael McGannon of Amherst, OH; two great great grandsons, Alexander James Golden and Jordan Lee Golden.

 

She is also survived by a very close friend, Ms. Nancy Tucker.

 

Betty graduated from Loretto Academy Class of 1943, El Paso, Texas. She was a Life Member of the Harrison County Senior Citizen Center, member of the Women of the Moose, Woodsmen of the World Lodge No. 200 for over 65 years, former member of the Catholic Daughters of American Court 334 and the Glennette Canasta Card Club for over 60 years and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church since 1946. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and mother-in-law. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, ceramics and other crafts.
