Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 12:00 to 7:00 pm, where funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Timothy Maxwell officiating.   Interment will be in the Sardis Cemetery, where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

Carl Lynn Fittro, 88, of Clarksburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the United Hospital Center.  He was born in Clarksburg on July 17, 1928, a son of the late Mason and Lela Knight Fittro.

 

Carl never met a stranger.  He had many close friends and he loved everyone, even loved his doctors, and he absolutely adored his cat, Buddy.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia Robey Fittro, whom he married on April 23, 1966; one daughter, Kristy Allen and her husband Timothy of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Joseph Carl Earnest, Alexandria Paige Eagle and her husband Zachary, Ariel Kristine Allen, Ashton Kate Allen and Michael Paul Earnest; one sister-in-law, Sandra Jean Fittro of Wilsonburg; two special nieces, Carla Steffich and her husband Chris of Wilsonburg, whom he fondly referred to as “Punkin” and her children, Brent Steffich, Breanna Steffich and Elijah “Mighty Might” Steffich, and Debra Goldizen and her husband Jeff and her children Jacob Goldizen and Olivia Goldizen.

 

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Dena Lynn Earnest; and one brother, Donald Lee Fittro.

 

Mr. Fittro was a 1948 graduate of Victory High School, a United States Army Veteran, and was a retired Mold Maker with Anchor Hocking Glass Factory with over 40 years of service.  He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, and was a member of the Meuse Argonne Post #573 VFW, a 50 year member of Herman Lodge #6 A.F. & A.M., a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason with membership in Clarksburg and Wheeling Bodies and a member of the Nemesis Shrine of Parkersburg Valley.
