Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30pm to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:00 am with Father D. Kent Durig as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Catherine M. Katie Chiado, 88 of Clarksburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the Meadowview Manor.

 

She was born in Clarksburg on August 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Joe and Angelina Bilotta Chiado.

 

Surviving are her sisters, Flora Plivelich of Hepzibah, Josephine Olivio of Bridgeport, Angeline Fuchs of Canton, OH, Mary Graves and her husband Willard of Hagerstown, MD, and Judy Stevens and her husband Greg of Charles Town; one brother-in-law, John Folio of Nutter Fort; and several nieces and nephews, Jack and Joey Plivelich, Kathy Holbert and Rocco Chiado, Yvonne Childers, Joe Chiado and Angie Cross, Diane Donahew, Michael and Sam Olivio, Johnna Oehlsen and Sean Stevens, and Eric Folio

 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rocco Chiado and Frank Chiado; and her sister, Lorentina “Tina” Folio.

 

Katie was a 1948 graduate of Washington Irving High School and was employed by Clarksburg Maiden Form, Lerners Dress Shop, Parson-Sauders Department Store and then Elder-Beerman Department Store where she retired.

 

Katie loved spending time with her brothers and sisters and loved planning holiday family dinners.
