Obituaries

Charles Frederick Bailey, Jr., 69, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on October 28, 1947, a son of Charles Frederick Bailey, Sr. of Wolf Summit and the late Mary Ruth Merritt Bailey.

Mr. Bailey is survived by three sons, Michael Bailey and wife Jamie of Clarksburg, Nicholas Bailey of Clarksburg and Frederick Bailey and wife Billie Jo of Bridgeport; one daughter, April Bailey of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Mitchell Bailey, Seth Bailey, Karriee Bailey, Emily Price Bailey, and Nathan Price Bailey.  He is also survived by two brothers, Al Bailey and wife Donna of Erie, WV and Danny Bailey and wife Donna of Wolf Summitt; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charles was a 30-year retired veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War, and retired from AFG Glass Factory with 33 years of service.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Chris Chaney presiding.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Salem where full military graveside rites will be accorded.
