Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Robert Marrano officiating.   Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery.

Constance Jean “Connie” Swiger, 74, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Washington, DC on September 23, 1942, a daughter of the late Raymond Batten, Sr., and Helen Roberts Batten.

 

In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her husband, Melvin Wayne Swiger, whom she married on February 17, 1962; two sons, David W. Swiger and his wife Tammy of Meadland, and Daniel B. Swiger and his wife Georgeann of Reedsville; four grandchildren, Travis Swiger and his wife Logan, Thomas Swiger, Abby Swiger and Sarah Swiger; one great grandchild, Camden Swiger; one sister, Yolanda Rodgers of Alexandria, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Rahne; and one brother, Raymond “Jack” Batten, Jr.

 

Connie was the owner of Connie’s Closet at Benedum Airport, and was previously a cook for the Harrison County Board of Education. Connie was wonderful cook, talented crafter and enjoyed participating in craft shows.  She was Methodist by faith.
