Honoring his wishes, Mr. Brinkley will be cremated.   The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport.  The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the conclusion of the visitation at 10:00 a.m.   Inurnment will follow in the WV National Cemetery.

David Earl Brinkley, 69, of Bridgeport, WV, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12, 2019 at highland Oaks Healthcare in McConnelsville, OH, following an extended illness.

 

He was born on August 30, 1949, a son of the late Robert Brinkley and the late Lois June Lake Clevenger.

 

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Zannino Brinkley, whom he married on August 16, 1975.  Also surviving are two daughters, Tiffany Renee Brinkley of Bridgeport and her significant other Jason Thompson and Ashley Nichole Brinkley and her significant other Zack Reynolds; two grandchildren, Nevaeh Renee Brinkley 12 years old and Keaton Isaac Brinkley Reynolds, 4 years old, one aunt, Jean Lake of North View; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

David was a 1969 Victory High School graduate and a former employee of Brockway Glass, Anchor Hocking and Newell where he worked for 20 years and Precision Coil Aluminum Company for 20 years.

 

Mr. Brinkley was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1972 where he was stationed in Boston, Texas, Hawaii and Vietnam.

 

Family was very important to David and he loved spending time with them.  He enjoyed showing pictures of his daughters and grandchildren to people.  He loved going on family vacations, watching WVU and Steelers football games, boating, golfing and bowling.

 

He was catholic by faith and attended All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
