A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 7:30 pm with Pastor Rick Wellock presiding.

Dickie Joe “Dick” Davis, 77, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Specialty Hospital.

He was born in Doddridge County, WV, on August 8, 1940, a son of the late Glen Benny and Pauline Ash Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Ruth Dottie “Wheel” Stutler Davis.

He is also survived by one son, Shawn “Shawn Boy” Davis and wife Barbara “Crow” of Salem; five grandchildren, Shawna Jo “JoJo” Davis, Shawn Michael “Mickey” Davis, Madison Brook “Queen Madie” Davis, Harley Delores “Dee” Davis, and Chloe Faith “Bug” Davis; two step grandchildren, Courtney Lynn Rogers, and Brandon Lee Rogers; one great granddaughter, Adayah Jo Davis and his favorite companion and best friend, his dog, “Neko”. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Jean Davis of Wolf Summit, and Peggy Diane Richards of Lost Creek, one brother-in-law, Richard Dewayne “Abe” Stutler; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George P. Davis, and his sister, Anna Sue Lamb.

Dick retired from the Heavy Equipment Operators Local 132, and was a member of the Jewell City Church.

He was a 40-year member of the Jackson Lodge # 57 AF & AM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite member, and a member of the Nemesis Shrine Temple of Parkersburg.
