Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV, on Tuesday, October 4, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.   The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.   Interment will follow at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Doneta Arlene Rigdon, 78, of Lost Creek, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew following an extended illness.

 

She was born in Clarksburg, WV on August 10, 1938, the oldest daughter of Hayward and Mildred “Sally” Campbell Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother and his wife, Ronald and Delores Phillips of Kingwood, WV and one daughter, Melanie Kay Miller of South Charleston, WV.

 

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Eugene Rigdon, to whom she was married on August 5, 1955 in Winchester, VA. Also surviving are two children, Sheri Linn Murray and husband Michael of Weston, WV, and Gregory Kent Rigdon and wife Ruth Ann of Lost Creek, WV; five grandchildren, Marlena Reed and husband Matthew of Weston, WV, Dennis Murray and wife Jennifer of Dexter, MI, Michael Rigdon, Cole Rigdon and Seth Rigdon all of Lost Creek, WV; two great-grandchildren, Marcus Reed of Weston and Audrey Murray of Dexter, MI; one brother, Richard D. Phillips, Sr. of Great Cacapon, WV; one sister, Deborah A. Baker and husband Michael of Shinnston, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Rigdon was a graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg, WV and dedicated her life to healthcare, first beginning her career at the old Union Protestant Hospital in Clarksburg, WV working in the newborn nursery. She then attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse starting her nursing career at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV then moving to the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV, where she worked until she retired.

 

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and nurse. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

 

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV, on Tuesday, October 4, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

 

The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

 

Interment will follow at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
