Family friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.   The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Sharon Dietze and Reverend Sherman Goodwin presiding.   Interment will follow in the Good Hope Masonic Cemetery.

Dorothy Jean Satterfield Casey, 81, of Stonewood, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at the United Hospital Center.

 

She was born in Ellenboro, WV, on August 20, 1934, a daughter of the late Millard and Mary Davis Satterfield.

 

Dorothy’s husband of 60 years, Guy Edison Casey, who she married on September 18, 1965, preceded her in death on May 31, 2016.

 

They had one  son, Charles Casey, who resides in Stonewood. She is also survived by one brother, Larry Satterfield of Harrisville and one sister, Karen McClain and husband Barry of Stonewood; a special niece, Mary Kay Satterfield of Clarksburg, as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosella Mossor.

 

Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School. She worked at J.C. Penney and retired after 31 years of service.

 

She was a member of the West Virginia Horseshoe Pitchers Association for 22 years, and WVHPA Hall of Fame in 2004. She also was a bowling member of Jewel City Ladies and Compton Ladies Bowling League for over 25 years. She was a member of the Stonewall United Methodist Church since 1955.
