Dustin Lee Nixon, 19, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 following an accidental drowning doing what he loved, fly fishing.

Dustin was born in Clarksburg on December 23, 2005 and is survived by his father and best friend, Steve Nixon of Clarksburg. Along with his dad, he is survived by the love of his life, Madysen Higginbotham.

Also surviving are one sister, Mackenzie Elwood and her husband John of Ohio; two nieces, Harmony and Charlie Elwood; one nephew, Deegan Elwood; his uncle, Richard Kesling of Clarksburg; his aunt, Sue Benedum and her husband Leslie of Durbin; his uncle, Ronald Biesczad; cousins, Jennifer Biesczad and her fiancé Jason Wyne and their son Chance, and Jamey Biesczad and his wife Amanda and their daughter Isabella.

He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Betty and Billy Nixon.

Dustin was a 2025 graduate of Liberty High School and was a construction worker with RLI solutions.

Dustin was a hard worker and was dedicated to his job and also worked with his dad at multiple jobs. He loved to fly fish and was an avid rider, having loved his Harley Davidson. Dustin was a thoughtful and caring person, always putting others before himself.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

In keeping with his wishes, Dustin will be cremated following the visitation.
