Joanne was my first friend when we moved to WV. As a member of the Telephone Pioneers in NY, I contacted Joanne since she was president of the local chapter. Joanne was very pleasant on the phone and asked me to the next meeting of the Pioneers. Joanne told me that if I needed any assistance or had questions, to please contact her. She was always sincere, and very helpful. Within two months of living in Bridgeport, my husband and I wanted to attend the Holly Ball. When I inquired about purchasing tickets I was told that only certain people were invited. I mentioned my problem to Joanne and she immediately told me who to contact. Joanne was instrumental in contacts for bridge. Although I had never played the game before, she lead me to the various groups. Joanne was a great bridge player. I kept in contact with her for many years. But I knew she was failing when she played bridge and had major issues. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I lost contact with her and visitation was not allowed. Joanne will be missed by many family and friends. I will always remember my first friend in WV, Joanne.
