Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. where services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Doug Sands presiding. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Evelyn Grace Thompson Browning, 89, of Warrenton, VA, formerly of Quiet Dell, WV, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Brookside Rehab and Nursing Facility in Warrenton, VA.

 

Evelyn was born on November 18, 1930 in Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late Allen and Ada Springer Thompson.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Hoy B. Browning, whom she was married to for 54 years.

 

Mrs. Browning is survived by her two children, son Daniel Browning and wife Cathy of Morgantown and daughter Cathy Browning Lichvar and husband Richard of Winchester, VA; and one sister-in-law Maxine Thompson of Petersburg, WV.

 

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brother, Monzell “Farmer” Thompson.

 

Evelyn was a former employee of G.C. Murphy’s and Foodland. She later dedicated her time to being a Homemaker. She was a member of Quiet Dell United Methodist Church where she enjoyed volunteering at the Food and Clothes Pantry.
