Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bill Lanham presiding.   Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Evelyn Marie Ward, 96, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born in Mt. Clare, WV, on January 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Cleophius and Iva Ola Greynolds Myers, Sr.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Ward, on July 6, 1984.

 

Mrs. Ward is survived by two sons, Carl Ward and wife Joyce of Good Hope, and Richard Ward of Lost Creek; two daughters, Carleen Nutter and husband Michael of Duck Creek, and Sandra Miller of Duck Creek; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Bishop of Chicago, IL; and daughter-in-law, Mary Myers of Lost Creek.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Myers, one daughter-in-law, Bridgette Ann Ward, and one son-in-law, Willard Miller.

 

Evelyn was a graduate of Unidis High School Class of 1941. She was the oldest member of the West Milford Union Mission Church, and was a devoted mother and grandmother.  All those who knew her called her “Maw”.  She had a special gift of making everybody feel like family.  She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.  Evelyn enjoyed sewing, flowers, gardening and most of all bringing joy to others.
