A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Chris Turner as Celebrant.   Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to People’s Hospice.

Genevieve G. Janicak Lake, age 92, of Clarksburg passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Colonial Place in Elkins, WV following an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg on May 1, 1924 the daughter of the late Vendell Janicak and Mary Samuel Janicak. Her husband, Harry Lake Jr. preceded her in death August 1, 1985.

 

Surviving are two sons, Gary Lake and his wife Aniela, and Lanny Lake and his wife Becky all of Clarksburg. Five grandchildren, Matthew Lake and his wife Kim, Christopher Lake and his wife Kristal, Jennifer Morton, Kristi Knight, and Kasey Shaffer and her husband Tyson. Six great grandchildren, Angelina, Brianna, Aubrey, Halee, Heidi, and Wade.

 

Mrs. Lake was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Daniel Janicak, Ann Wacowski, Helen Holt, and Mary Ross.

 

Mrs. Lake was retired from Heck’s Department Store with 20 years of service, was formerly employed with Robert’s Hardware, and was co-owner of Lake Appliance Service.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Society. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family.
