Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street Clarksburg on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.   There will be a graveside service at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Casey Mahone presiding. Full military graveside rites will be accorded.

George Dominic Gulas, 64, of Salem, WV, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital, following a brief illness.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on July 26, 1953, a son of the late Joseph and Izabella Gulas.

 

George is survived by two brothers, Frank Gulas and wife Darletta of Salem, and twin brother, Anthony Gulas of Clarksburg; one sister, Ethel Gulas of Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Gulas.

 

George served his country as a veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital with 30 years of service as a maintenance engineer.

 

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Salem Rifle and Pistol Club. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. George loved his animals and particularly rescuing dogs and cats.
