Georgianna “Georgie” Dye, 65, of Clarksburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours on Friday, July 14, 2017.  She was in her new home on Seneca Drive at the time she passed.  Georgie dearly loved her new home and she loved having friends (and sometimes strangers) over to see the house; she never knew a stranger.

She was born in Clarksburg on August 17, 1951, a daughter of the late Edward Lee and Thurmetta Lou Cottrill Dye.

Surviving are one sister, Lisa Mullooly of Cocoa Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Coughlin on August 4, 2011; one brother, Ed “Butch” Dye, Jr. on December 14, 2004; and one sister, Norita B. Dye Vibbert on June 13, 2016.

Georgie was engaged to Donnie Kopp and they had their wedding date set for Saturday, August 19, 2017.  Georgie stated that is was a “Destination Wedding”, and the destination was the Cave Country Campground just south of Franklin, WV.

Those of us who had the pleasure of knowing Georgie (and she had many friends) knew that the Good Lord threw away the mold when He made her.  She was a fun loving, vivacious, giving and very beautiful woman.  Georgie was a wonderful homemaker, a great interior decorator, and her cooking was a taste to behold.  She dearly loved inviting friends over for dinner and sending them home laughing with their bellies full.  She always had that beautiful smile on her lovely face, except for some rare occasions when she had to discipline an employee or two at the F.O.P. Restaurant in Nutter Fort.  But even then, everyone loved Georgie!

Georgie had been working as one of the managers at the F.O.P. Restaurant for the last 15 years.  Many people came to the F.O.P. just to see Georgie.  Many were greeted with a hug and a kiss and always a joke and a smile.  Georgie spent her entire life in the food and entertainment business.

Georgie and Donnie met and fell in love very late in life, but their love was unconditional!  Although they spent less than two years together, they shared many wonderful and glorious memories together.  Georgie lived her life to the fullest and she loved laughing, food and a few drinks…in any order!  She will be missed by many, but Georgianna Darlene Dye will never be forgotten.  One of Georgie’s favorite trademarks was that she always wore two different sets of earrings in her ears. Georgie’s wonderful laugh and gorgeous smile will be remembered by many of us forever.

Georgie would have had her 66th birthday on August 17th and the wedding was planned for two days later.  She said that was what she wanted for her birthday.  The August 19th wedding date was just one day before Ms. Bertha Dice’s birthday, who is the owner of the Cave Country Campground.  Bertha, who was affectionately known as “Ma”, was going to stand up with Georgie and Donnie during their wedding ceremony.

We all will love and miss you ALWAYS!
