Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Harry Jenkins presiding.   Per her request she will be cremated following the service.   Private interment will be held at the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.

Goldie Mae Gray, 83, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at the United Hospital Center following a brief illness.

 

She was born in Rockford, WV, on November 18, 1935 a daughter of the late Thomas M. and Dessie Morris Harris.

 

Mrs. Gray is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles “Charlie” Gray, whom she married on January 3, 1953.

 

She is also survived by one son, Mark Gray and wife Tracey of Lost Creek; one daughter, Shelley Allman of Lost Creek; two grandchildren, Tara Lynn Gray and Brandon Lee Allman; four sisters, Dorothy Betonte of Bridgeport, Margaret Pickhardt of Jensen Beach, FL, Clarice Jenkins and husband Harry of Stonewood, and Linda Linger of Lost Creek; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Harris and one sister, Betty Hardman.

 

Goldie was a graduate of Lost Creek High School, Class of 1953, and retired from Anchor Hocking with 22 years of service as a glassworker.

 

She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, and enjoyed housekeeping and keeping up with her family.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Rockford United Methodist Church.
