Guy Thomas “Sonny” Hickman, a resident of the Chub Run community, died October 9, 2021 to be with Jesus with his loving family by his side.

He was born August 17, 1940 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Thomas W. and Mary E. Gump Hickman.

Guy graduated from RW high school with the class of 1958. Guy worked most of his life as owner operator of Hickman trucking, a job he loved. Guy was a loving husband to Wanda Lea Johnson Hickman for 58 years, the love of his life. He was a dedicated and loving husband, daddy, papaw, and friend.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Kimberlea Guyann (Bruce) Orsborn of Fairmont, WV; Son, Eric Thomas (Missy) of Beverly WV; grandchildren Lindsay Brooke Davisson of Fairmont, WV, Jarrod Thomas and Madalyn Elizabeth Hickman of Beverly WV; great-grandchild Di’Quez Xavior Smith of Fairmont, WV; a special nephew James Eric (Kimberly) Hickman, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Guy was preceded by one brother, Reynolds Wayne Hickman and an infant son, Timothy Hickman.

Guy was a Veteran and served his country honorably in the 23rd US Infantry of the Army.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, where a visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 13 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
