H. Christine Moore Erwin, age 79, of Ridgeland, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 21, 2018. Christine is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Erwin also of Ridgeland, SC.

Christine was born in Clarksburg, WV, on October 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Madge Ina Moore and Edward A. Moore also of Clarksburg.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her son, Howard William Short II; one sister, Judith Flaville; two brothers, Ted Moore, and Eddie Moore; and her former husband William O. Ward.

Christine is survived by two daughters, Deborah Kay Hanning, and Billie Anne Cox and her husband Flawn Cox, all of Spelter, WV; two sisters, Margaret Moore-Mehl and her husband, Spencer, of Sneads Ferry, NC, and Susan Herrick and her husband Tom, of Lewisburg, TN; and one brother, James “Jim” Moore and his wife Karen, of Missoula, MT. Christine is also survived by four biological granddaughters: Christina Sizemore, Shannon DeWitt, Brooks Tustin, and Alexis Hicks, and three step grandchildren: Matthew Cox, Vance Cox II, and Victoria Puccio. She has an abundance of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Previously, Christine (known as “Short”) had been employed by United Hospital Center for many years while living in Clarksburg, WV. However, she was last employed by Delta/B&B Loans in Ridgeland, SC. In her position as loan manager, she received multiple honors, but was most recently awarded a plaque for over twenty-five years of service by the CEO, Mr. Younce. There, Christine ministered the gospel of Jesus to her customers who quickly became her friends. Christine was loved and cherished by every person whose life she touched. Above all else, Christine loved her Lord and her family.

Although she will be greatly missed, her life, love, and ministry will be celebrated, and the peace from her faithful savior will sustain us all. We have comfort in knowing that Jesus eagerly awaited her return home. In this time of grief, we will remember our beloved mom, wife, sister, grandma, GG, aunt, and friend from the perfect words of Proverbs 31:29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
