Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 126 E. Pike Street, Clarksburg, on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Hilarion Cann as celebrant.   Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

Irma Agnes Williams, 93, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 9, 2018.

 

She was born in Clarksburg, WV, on March 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Anthony Frank and Agnes Rokisky Yonovak.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden “Bud” Williams and infant son, Kevin Williams.

 

Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Sandra Williams Martin and husband Joe of Charlotte, NC, Gary Williams and wife Cynthia Smith Williams of Clarksburg, Monica Williams Audia and husband Mark of Bridgeport, and Jimmy Williams and wife Jill Foppiano Williams of Clarksburg; her grandchildren, Scott Williams, Kristen Williams, Heather Cann and husband Larry, Jr., Shawn Williams and wife Sarah, Jeff Martin and wife Marisa, Casey Martin, Chris Audia and wife Sarah, Ryan Audia and wife Samantha, Avery Williams and Anthony Williams; and her great-grandchildren, Mason Williams, Lucy Audia, Luna Audia, Lilyanna Audia, Ashlee Martin, Hailey Martin, and Rubie Rose Martin.

 

Mrs. Williams was the last surviving member of her immediate family also having been preceded in death by her sisters, Lena Jonzak, Helen Yonovak, and her brothers, Jim Yonovak, Vendal Yonovak, Tony Yonovak, and Stanley Yonovak.

 

Irma attended Washington Irving High School, and formerly worked at the Sanitary Meat Market and Hazel Atlas Glass Factory.

 

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and formerly a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters, Holy Rosary Society and the Senior Citizen’s Center.

 

Irma was a very strong, warm and loving mother and grandmother.  She was always there to help her children and grandchildren with a smile, and was always happy to see her family.  She was a great cook and loved to teach her children how to can sauce peppers, and speak Slovak.  She loved to visit her friends in the hospital and nursing homes.  She was also very competitive, and loved playing cards and pool.

 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Irma’s caregivers, Bridget, Betty, Samantha, Darlene, Judy, Donna, Belinda, and Amedisys Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother.
