Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Garry Layfield presiding. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery.

Iva “Ruth” Hardman Blake, 85 of Mt. Clare, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.
She was born in Clarksburg, WV, on February 4, 1934, a daughter of the late Arthur Alexander and Nancy Blanche Linville Hardman.
Her husband of 46 years, William Lee Blake, passed away on May 17, 1999.
Mrs. Blake is survived by three children, Sheila Blake of Clarksburg, Kenneth Lee Blake of Mt. Clare and Patricia Ann Blake of Logan County; two grandchildren, Rachael Danielle McNemar of Clarksburg, and Terry Lee McNemar, Jr. of Clarksburg and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Harley. Also surviving are one brother, Freddy Hardman and his wife Viola of Salem, WV; and one sister, Ester Wells of Sardis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Hardman and one sister, Margaret Hardman.
Ruth was a graduate of Victory High School Class of 1952 and a homemaker. She was Baptist by faith. Ruth loved horses, flowers, gardening, but most of all loved her family. She was a great person and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
