This is truly not the message or tribute I wish I was leaving . My condolences to the Koontz family on your great loss. I was fortunate enough to meet Jack on one of his Canadian adventures when he ventured to join Homers Canadian fishing gang at Kahshe Lake up here in Ontario many years ago. The accolades are all true, caring fun loving and questing a sense of adventure. I was accepted by the boys from the very first moment they passed me on my boat . Instantly we bonded and I had not only new friends but seemingly new brothers, it was so surreal. The memories of the great times ( and army rations) we shared at Kahshe will never fade. Meeting Jack truly made me a better man. May he rest in peace.

Where do I begin? I have loved you from the moment I met you. You were loud, opinionated, generous, kind, caring, and most of all, your heart was bigger than life! Ithere was never a time you judged me or chose not to love me because of something ridiculous I might have done. You made every experience a learning experience wether it be good or bad. I had the utmost respect for you and I valued every opinion you gave. We liked to gang up on mom a lot but it's what we did and we had so many laughs. She always wanted to run away from us because so was embarrass that we told people that way it was! You are so terribly missed . I am still waiting for you to to come around the corner and say "hey gal," or "I love ya gal". Your face and smell may fade but my memories of you will NEVERTHELESS die! I love you Jack
