James A. "Breeze" Fernandez

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday May 28, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 am.   A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:30am in the Shinns Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Steve Henry and Pastor Charles Madaus officiating.

James A. “Breeze” Fernandez , 71, of Clarksburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ  on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born in Portsmouth, VA on May 7, 1945, a son of the late Albert R. and Irene Starkey Fernandez.

 

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Mae Regester Fernandez; one son, Michael Gaughan of Clarksburg; two daughters, Carleeta Cox and her husband Lee of Shinnston, and Jessica Henry and her husband Zak of Bridgeport; and six grandchildren.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having also been preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Fernandez.

 

Jim was a musician for many years, playing with the Shirelles in New York, the Drifters in California, and various artist in between.

 

Jim loved fast cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles.  He also loved his horses and dogs, his bird “Tippy” and his cat “Autumn”.

 

Jim received Jesus as his savior and was now in pursuit of his new life and realized that nothing in this life is better than being forgiven of his sins and having a home in Heaven.
