In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Green will be cremated. Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm to conclude the visitation with Pastor Nate Moore presiding. Entombment will be in the WV National Cemetery on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11:00 am.

James A. “Jimmy” Green, 78, of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at his residence.

He was born in Clarksburg on March 12, 1946, a son of the late James L. Green and Elizabeth “Bebe” Talerico Tyler.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shelia A. Davis Green, whom he married on May 22, 1970.

Also surviving are three daughters, Beth Ann Bennett and her husband Shawn of North View, Toni J. Green and her friend Joe Marple of North View, and Lacey A. Sheets and her companion Lex Singleton of Clarksburg; Tommy Fornash, whom he considered a son, and his wife Jackie of Mt. Clare; four grandchildren, Cole Fisher and his companion Tara Bragg, Katee Rollyson and her husband Jaden, Mia Kulick and Jimi Ann Sheets; two sisters, Judy Coche and her husband Dave Nuzum of Nutter Fort and Diane Perrine of North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Lavonne Sparks and her husband Howard and Teddie Steiding and her husband Paul; one brother-in-law, Anthony Allevato; six nieces and nephews, David Allevato, Kagen Steiding, Jason Coche, Howard Lee Sparks who was his best friend, Teth Peiffley and Lucinda Schmeiser.

He was also preceded in death by one nephew, Jimmy Allevato; one sister-in-law, Doris Allevato; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Jean Davis; and his stepfather, Raymond Tyler.

Mr. Green attended Victory High School and was a United States Army Veteran. He was Millwright with AFG/Fourco Glass where he retired after 36 years of service and was a bus driver with the Harrison County Board of Education for 10 years.
Jimmy was a lifetime member of the Beech Mountain Sportsman’s Club. He was a true cowboy and outdoorsman who enjoyed horses, camping, hunting, ATV riding and farming. Most of all, Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends, especially around a campfire.
