Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with his nephew, Danny Singleton presiding. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.

James Edwin “Bill” Dean, 84, of Mt. Clare, WV, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017, at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born on Birds Run in Harrison County, on February 10, 1933, a son of the late Perry and Bessie Parsons Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Madelene R. Osborn Dean, whom he married on November 5, 1955.

He is survived by two sons, James Dean Jr. of Morgantown, and John R. Dean of Mt. Clare; two daughters, Donna Jenkins and husband Bill of Mt. Clare and Melissa Dean of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, John Andrew Dean, Erica Dean, Jaron Todd and Shayla Boothe; and three great grandchildren, Austin Battin, Brandon Dean and Kaleigh Dean. He is also survived by one brother, Harry Dean of Clarksburg; two sister, Betty Shingleton of Stonewood and Midge Moneypenney of Mt. Clare; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Perry Dean, Jr. and two sisters, Evelyn Alton and Louise Stewart.

Mr. Dean was a veteran in the U. S. Army and a retired supervisor with Sago Coal Company. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Stonewood, and a former 4-H leader.
