Obituaries

James M. Golden, 89, of Glen Falls passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

He was born in Clarksburg on June 3, 1936, a son of the late Berthuel and Ella Monroe Golden.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Deborah Demastus and her husband Claude of Glen Falls, Machelle Murray and her husband Paul of Corona, CA, Marilyn Flanigan and her husband Chuck of Salem, Michael Bosley of Clarksburg and Mindy Golden of Clarksburg; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Mr. Golden was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having also been preceded in death by three brothers, Richard B. Golden, Warner Lee Golden and William Bill Golden; one sister, Barbara (Golden) Sheaffer; and three nephews, David, Doug and Roger Golden; and one niece, Shelley Golden.

Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, his humor and his infectious smile. He never knew a stranger. He loved working on the farm and helping his neighbors in the hay field. Jim will be missed by his family as well as all of his friends at Maplewood Healthcare Center.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.
