James Nelson Lowther, 60, of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at his residence.

 

He was born in Clarksburg on August 15, 1959, a son of the late James H. and Goldie Skidmore Lowther.

 

He is survived by his wife, Pam Norris Lowther, whom he married on July 13, 2004.

 

Also surviving are three sons, Phillip Vanhorn and his fiancé Jacklynn Hurst of Clarksburg, Jeremy Lowther of Shinnston, and Travis Norris of Bridgeport; three daughters, Jaye Guttliep of Clarksburg, Teresa Lowther and her fiancé Jeremy Duncan of Weston, Kayla Guttliep and her fiancé Justin Critchfield of Clarksburg; Katy Kat and Penny Ann Lowther; Danny Skidmore, whom he considered his son; five grandchildren, Michael Vanhorn, Briana McDonald, Hunter McDonald, Amelia Norris and Arrabella Norris; two great grandchildren, Coraline Barker and Alice Critchfield; two brothers, Roger Julian and John Lowther; five sisters, Shirley Griffin, Judy Swartz, Carol Basford, Barb Cottrill and Sherry Phillips; step-mother Sue Lowther; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Sue Norris; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was also preceded in death by two sons, David Julian, Jr. and Aaron Norris; and one brother, Bobby Julian.

 

Mr. Lowther was the property caretaker of Oral Lake Fishing Club. He enjoyed hunting and loved his family. Jim had a great sense of humor and his passion was riding and building motorcycles.
