Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor James “Eddie” Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Elkview Masonic Cemetery.

James Price “Jim” Blair, 87, of Bridgeport passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in the United Hospital Center.

He was born in Clarksburg on June 10, 1936, a son of the late William Robert and Eleanor V. Price Blair.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Hamrick Blair, whom he married on September 15, 1984.

Also surviving are one son, James P. Blair, Jr. and his wife Becky of Bridgeport; and one granddaughter, Korena “Kory” Blair of Bridgeport.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, William Robert Blair, II.

Mr. Blair was a 1954 graduate of Washington Irving High School. He had an extensive work history, having started at his family-owned Price Bottling in Buckhannon. He then went on to be one of the first employees at WBOY television station in Clarksburg and became an agent for State Farm Insurance before owning and operating Blair Motor Supply and White Electric Company. After retiring, Jim and his wife owned 4 Seasons Garden Center and Christmas World and he also worked in the garden center at Lowes. Jim was 1983 Small Businessman of the Year, was a member of Sunny Croft and Clarksburg Country Clubs and served on the Clarksburg City Council.
