Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday March 25th from 9:00 to 10:00 am, one hour prior to the service which will be held at 10:00 am with Lou Ortenzio presiding.  Interment will follow in the West Union Masonic Memorial Gardens.

James Victor Ellifritt, 60, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 21, 2017 after years of living with Muscular Dystrophy. He was born in Clarksburg on April 27, 1956, the son of the late Hobart and Ruth Ellifritt.

 

He is survived by his four siblings, Betty Dotson (Mike) of Parkersburg, Bill Ellifritt of Clarksburg, Laurie Givens (Jeff) of Clarksburg, and Nancy Havener (Kirk) of Harrodsburg, KY. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Amy Rexroad (Brandon), Kelley McClung (Brian), Andrew Givens (Nell), Elizabeth Givens, Victoria Swiggett, David Havener (Sarah), Abigail Havener, and Jeremiah Havener; as well as seven great nieces and nephews.

 

Jim was a 1974 graduate of Washington Irving High School, a 1978 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in chemical engineering, and later a graduate of Fairmont State College with a degree in accounting. At the time of his death, he was employed as a tax preparer for H & R Block.  Jim was a lifelong member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jim’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60606, or to the Clarksburg Baptist Church, 501 W. Pike Street, Clarksburg, WV  26301.
