It is with sadness that the family of Jean Anneslie Bates Marshall, 65, of Clarksburg, WV announces her passing on October 25, 2024 at the United Hospital Center.

She was born in Annapolis, MD on July 20, 1959, the daughter of the late Leslie A. Bates and her surviving mother Jean A. Bates of Gambrills, MD.

Jean is lovingly remembered and survived by her son, Charles Marshall of Clarksburg, WV, her oldest brother, William L. Bates, of St. Mary’s County, MD, her sister, Laura A. Bates of Gambrills, MD and her youngest brother, Edward A. Bates of Sudlersville, MD.

Mrs. Marshall was a graduate of Largo High School in Maryland. In her younger years, she enjoyed baking. She was a fan of Elvis Presley, and her dad made sure she saw him in concert, along with a family trip to Graceland and she loved movies like Fiddler on the Roof.

In more recent years, Jean enjoyed crocheting, reading her bible, and talking with her friends on the phone.

She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St, Nutter Fort on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm with Pastor Don Harward presiding. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
