Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm where funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:00 am with Pastor Bryant Bailey officiating. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Joan Heater DeMeester, 84, of Brannon Avenue, Stonewood passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

 

She was born in Wolf Summit on February 5, 1936, a daughter of the late Lawrence Edward and Virginia Dare Skidmore Heater.

 

She was married to Robert Charles DeMeester, who preceded her in death.

 

Surviving are three sons, Robert Lawrence DeMeester and his wife Ronda of Carlisle, PA, Joseph Michael DeMeester and his wife Kimberly of Nutter Fort, and Steven Kent DeMeester and his companion Michelle Miller of Quiet Dell; one daughter, Davina Sue Keith and her husband Stu of Stonewood; eight grandchildren, Brian DeMeester, Heather Inners, Eric DeMeester, Alisha DeMeester, Jessica DeMeester, Justin Miller, Lawrence Keith and Nicklas Keith; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Connie Meredith and her husband Terry of Beckley.

 

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Leigh DeMeester; and one granddaughter, Anna DeMeester.

 

Mrs. DeMeester was a graduate of Bristol High School and was previously employed as an office manager at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
