Obituaries

Joan Cutright Lake, 83, formerly of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at River Oaks Nursing Home where she has been a resident for six years.

She was born in Berea, WV, on September 12, 1934, a daughter of the late Ernest and Amma Sutton Cutright.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Lynn Lake, and her companion, Warren H. Riffle.

She is survived by five sons, Rondal Lake of Lost Creek, Junior Lake of Lost Creek, Steve Lake and companion Michelle of Bedford, OH, Howard Riffle and companion Donna of Lost Creek and Hubert Riffle of Lost Creek; three daughters, Sharon Salate and husband Patsy of Lost Creek, Charlotte McGary and husband Clifford of Anmoore and Ruby Marks of Lost Creek; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Betty Rush of Weston.

In addition to her parents, husband, and companion, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Stutler, Sarah Groves, Tinkey Maxwell, Zelda Rittenhouse and Jean Riffle; and two brothers, Willard “Bill” Cutright and Raymond Cutright.

Joan was a member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

There will be a Memorial Service at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, 83 Church Circle, Lost Creek on Saturday, June30, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Saundra Boley presiding.
