Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in Stonewood, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Father D. Kent Durig as celebrant.   Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Mausoleum.

John G. Petrigac, Jr., 81, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the UPMC Passavant Hospital.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on November 12, 1936, a son of the late John G. and Veronica Bohenski Petrigac, Sr.

 

Mr. Petrigac is survived by three sons, John G. “Sonny” Petrigac and wife Judy of Pittsburgh, Patrick Petrigac and partner Dan Vitalie of Pittsburgh, and Stan Petrigac and wife Tami Merill of Indiana, PA; seven grandchildren, Thea Petrigac, Jonathan Petrigac, Stefan Petrigac, Taylor Pavetti, Cassidy Petrigac, Jack Vitalie and Julia Vitalie; two brothers, Daniel “Danny” Petrigac and wife Nancy of Clarksburg, and Francis Petrigac and wife Janice of Clarksburg; one sister, Veronica Carter and husband Patrick of Boston, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Brunetti, and Eleanor Petrigac, and two nephews, Joe and Sam Brunetti.

 

John was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a postman for the United States Postal Service. John was an avid sports enthusiast.  He was very passionate about football at all levels, but especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play the game.

 

He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.
