The family will receive friends at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV  26301 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 where Catholic Funeral Rites will begin at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.

John Michael Krivosky, 91, of Stonewood, WV passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on November 26, 1926 the son of the late John Krivosky and Katherine Pruch Krivosky.

 

He is survived by two sisters, Florence “Pook” Krivosky of Clarksburg and Helen “Babe” Powell and husband George of Stonewood; one brother, Fred Krivosky and wife Lavonne of Stonewood. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Betty Krivosky of Nutter Fort and brother-in-law, Robert Wagner of Stonewood along with several nieces and nephews.

 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Krivosky and Frank Krivosky and four sisters; Pauline Wagner, Rose Drgon, Margaret Bavlsik, and Marion Maxson.

 

John proudly served his country during WWII as an Army sergeant earning several medals and awards. After being honorably discharged from the military, he enrolled in WV Wesleyan College earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  He pursued a career as an X-Ray Technician working at the Utah Medical Center and then at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

 

Upon his retirement, he returned home to spend time with his beloved family.  At the age of 91, he still enjoyed venturing out each day making his daily rounds. He was an avid, self-taught steel guitar enthusiast who also enjoyed honing his computer skills. Learning was a lifelong passion. John will be sadly missed by family and friends. We were blessed to have him in our lives for so many years.

 

John was Catholic by faith.
