Joe was a super fun guy who loved motorcycles, and was a roller derby enthusiast. His children, Tony and Mindy will be hosting a celebration that represents their father’s spirit and huge personality at the Knights of Columbus, 334 E. Pike Street, Clarksburg, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.   The celebration is a BYOB and a BYOF event.  The family is catering a meal for approximately 100 people, and without obligation is encouraging friends and relatives to bring foods and desserts.  Tony and Mindy are also requesting that family and friends bring pictures, stories, or videos of their dad or parents, to share.  Their hope is to get together and swap memorable stories, and have a day filled with love and joy for their dad.   In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations to help with Joe’s celebration be made using PayPal to parsley_family2018@yahoo.com, or bring donations/and or cards to the celebration to place in the well-wishes basket.  Every act of kindness will be appreciated.

Joseph Eli “Joe” Parsley, 67, of Mt. Clare, WV, passed away on December 21, 2017, at his residence, unexpectedly.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on September 7, 1950, a son of the late Matt and Mabel Lewis Parsley.

 

He was married to Linda Rockelle Parsley on September 1, 1973, who preceded him in death on October 29, 2013.

 

Joe is survived by his son, Anthony “Tony” Parsley and wife Mary of Mt. Clare, his daughter, Mindy Parsley of Clarksburg; and two grandchildren, Sierra Parsley and Gabrielle Parsley.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Parsley and his sister, Dorothy Queen.

 

Joe was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School, Class of 1968, and a retired sales representative for various companies.
