Honoring his wishes, Mr. Corathers will be cremated. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a Memorial service following at 12:00 noon with Pastor Joy Butcher-Winfree officiating. Inurnment will follow at the WV National Cemetery, Grafton, WV, where full military honors will be accorded.

Lester Andrew “Les” Corathers, Jr. 78, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Corathers was born in Clarksburg, WV, on November 10, 1946, a son of the late Lester A. and Rugenia May Corathers.

He was wed to his wife of 28 years, Ilene Moore Corathers, on December 24, 1996, who resides at their home in Clarksburg.

Mr. Corathers is survived by four children, Lester A. Corathers, III of Lake Floyd, Stefanie Corathers of Romines Mill, Evan Corathers of Charlotte, NC, and Lester A. Corathers, IV, of Grafton; plus two bonus children, Shawn Bragg and wife Lijuan of Seattle, WA and Jonathan Bragg and wife Jenny of Driggs, ID; nine grandchildren, Whitney, Andlynn, Lindsey, Corrin, Makenna, Gavin, Brayden, Lillian, Louis, Freya and Nico; and five great granchildren, Aurora, Alek, Athan, Adalaya, and Addyson. He also leaves behind four sisters, Linda Ash, Claudia Kasel, Jean Montgomery, and Daphene “Pinky” Hornor; one brother, Darriel May; and the mother of his children, Toni Corathers; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Corathers; and three brothers-in-law, Charlie Ash, Kenny Kasel, and Joe Hornor.

Lester was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School, Class of 1965 and served in U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He was the owner and operator of Rain Soft in Arkansas.

Lester loved to hunt and fish and made the best deer jerky. He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Laramie, and the deer in the backyard. He was an antique car enthusiast and the proud owner of a 1961 Chevy Impala. He was a supporter of the RCB Scholarship Fund.

The family wishes to thank the VA Hospital ER Staff, 3A, and Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to RCB Scholarship Fund, One Eagle Way, Clarksburg, WV 26301, in memory of Les.
