Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dr. Rahsaan A. Armand officiating.   Interment will follow in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.

Linda Lee Elder Carpenter of Clarksburg went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2017.

She was born November 10, 1949, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Clark E. Elder Jr. and Willa Elder Washington of Clarksburg.

 

She was married to Earl A. Carpenter.

 

She was the mother of three children, Kimberly Taylor of NC, Eddie Taylor and his wife Michelle of Clarksburg, and Marcus Taylor of Clarksburg; grandmother of five grandchildren, Justin Taylor of Charleston WV, Allen and Marsha Taylor of Clarksburg, Chaz and Dakota Webster of Clarksburg, and Taylor Outlaw of NC; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce L. Griffin and her husband James of Bridgeport, and Gloria Elder of Clarksburg; and six step brothers and sisters, Richard Washington, Donald Washington, Grace Hineman, Lesta Washington, Edith Jackson and husband David all of Clarksburg, and Audrey Saunders of Youngstown, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by one brother Clark E. Elder III.

 

Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She loved watching cowboy movies, the Gathers and teasing her sisters.

 

She was member of Mt. Zion Missionary Church of Clarksburg.
