Marietta Jayne Yochym, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the Clarksburg Healthcare Center.

Born in Jamestown, New York, Marietta grew up in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life. After living in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Scottsdale, Arizona, she eventually returned to Clarksburg, West Virginia, where she spent her later years.

Marietta lived a life defined by love, kindness, and quiet devotion to those around her. She was a dedicated homemaker whose greatest joy came from caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. Her gentle spirit, patience, and compassion touched everyone who knew her.

Marietta was known for her deep love of animals, a reflection of her tender heart. Among her many beloved pets was a goat named Bishop, who held a special place in her life and brought her much happiness and laughter.

She is survived by her son, Jason Williams, and his wife, Bridget of Clarksburg, WV; her grandchildren, Chelsea Bonnell of Clarksburg, WV and Preston Williams of Fairmont, WV; and her great-grandchildren, Brinlee Bonnell and Jameson Leeson, and her brother, Charles G. Yochym of Weston, WV all of whom will forever cherish her love, guidance, and the memories they shared with her.

Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Rose Yochym, and her brother, Gary Yochym.

Though she may no longer be with us, Marietta’s warmth, generosity, and loving nature will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In keeping with Marietta’s wishes, she will be cremated, and the family will honor her life privately.
