Marilyn Jean “Lynn” McKee Gaines, 75, of Lost Creek peacefully went home to be with the Lord at the home of her daughter, Christie on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

She was born in Chester, PA on March 19, 1950, a daughter of the late Robert Burk “Bud” and Marilyn Jean Rozell McKee.

She is survived by one son, Lee F. Gaines of New Milton; two daughters, Christie Rogers and her husband Kevin of Lumberport, and Cheryl L. Gaines of Lost Creek; three grandchildren, Nikolaus Rogers of Bridgeport, Caleb Rogers of Lumberport and Gabriella Gaines of Lost Creek; one sister, Barbara Buck and her husband John of Elkton, MD; one brother, Robert “Bob” McKee and his wife Sandy of Trinity, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Lynn was a graduate of Springfield High School in Springfield, PA and Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She was a Registered Nurse having worked at United Hospital Center prior to having her children. She stayed at home with her children until her youngest daughter started school and then worked at Lewis County Home Health and Hospice for 17 years. Following that she worked at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital in Weston, retiring in 2020 after 23 years of service.
Lynn was a member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church and loved her church family. She enjoyed knitting dish cloths and giving them to all her friends and family. Lynn always had animals and loved them all. Most special was her dog Jazzie who passed away two years ago, and she leaves behind her beloved Lunix and four cats.

Lynn dedicated her life to God, her children and family, and her many, many patients she cared for over a 40 year career as a nurse. She always had a kind word for everyone she met, and opened her heart and home to many who needed her love and guidance to get back on their feet. She will be greatly missed by many.
