Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.   Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Karen Brown officiating.   Interment will be in the Broad Run Cemetery.

Martha Karen Cooper, 73, of Mt. Clare, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016.  She was born in Clarksburg on September 13, 1942, a daughter of the late William Coy and Martha Ellen “Marty” Thrash Lowther.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Andrew Patterson  “Pat” Cooper, whom she married on October 7, 1961.

Also surviving are one son, R. Kirk Cooper and his wife Melody of Mt. Clare; one daughter, Alicia Thompson and her husband Jake of Mt. Clare; four grandchildren, Rodney Cooper and his wife Brittney, Shawn Cooper, and Hannah and Adriaunna Thompson; and one great granddaughter, Victoria Cooper. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Andrea Kristy Cooper; and her grandparents, Coy and Velma Lowther, and Eldon and Nola Allman Thrash.

Karen previously worked at Weston National Bank and Empire Bank, and retired after 16 years with Home Interiors and Gifts.  She was a secretary for WSCS, a member of the Quiet Dell Garden Club, Lost Creek Senior Citizens, Country Roads Good Sams Camping Group, Red Hats Society “Classy Lassie” and Homemakers Club.  She was also a member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for several years.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Karen Brown officiating.  Interment will be in the Broad Run Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, Church Circle, Lost Creek, WV  26385.
