The family of Mary Alice Fox mourns her passing on May 19, 2022 in Naples, Florida.

Mary Alice was born in Saint George, WV, May 9, 1932. She was the seventh of eight children growing up on the family farm. In 1951 she graduated from Parsons High School. She was the last surviving child of the late Lee and Daisy (Shahan) Miller of Clarksburg, WV.

She married William (Bill) E. Fox on May 16, 1953 and together they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before he passed on his 95th birthday, May 4, 2018. Working side-by-side they owned and operated Bills’ Paint and Wallpaper, formerly located on Main Street in Clarksburg, WV.

Bill and Alley are survived by their two children, Jan who is married to Ted Wesolowski (Bonita Springs, FL) and William (Bill) who is married to Elizabeth (Libby Wolfe) Fox (Summerfield, NC); her very special grandchildren Sarah (Giancarlo) Bobbio of Virginia Beach, VA and Matthew Fox of Raleigh, NC; and her precious great grandsons Christian and Levi Bobbio. She is also survived by three sister-in-law, Barbara Miller, Barbara Albrecht and Helen Miller, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Alice was a remarkable woman with tremendous strength, courage, humility and kindness. She always saw the positives in life and in people. A deeply religious woman, her faith guided her throughout her life. She was always willing to help anyone in need and her door was always open. She loved to garden, bake, watch football, host holiday celebrations and family cookouts. She never missed out on a game of bingo. Her friends were many, but her family was always number one. She dedicated her life to loving, raising and helping her family. We will be forever grateful that the family was able to gather to celebrate her 90th birthday in early May this year.

Bill and Alley were long time members of Duff Street United Methodist Church. Upon retirement they moved from Clarksburg, WV to Fort Myers, FL. While they enjoyed the sunshine and the many friendships they developed over the years, their hearts never left West Virginia. They volunteered and worked at Lakes Regional Park Railroad Museum and Children’s Train in Fort Myers, FL where they took joy in seeing the smiling faces of the children. Alley also served for many years on the Board of the Museum and served on the Board of their condo association.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Alice was preceded in death by her sisters Virginia Parsons and Kathryn (Katie) Mihaliak as well as her brothers Paul Miller, Allen Miller, Don Miller, George Miller and Warren Miller, who was killed in combat during WWII.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Arbor Glen, Dr. Rebekah Bernard and Avow Hospice for their compassionate care.

Family and friends may call at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV, on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at which time a memorial service will be held. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Mt Clare, WV.
