Mary Frances Hughes Richison, 91, of Anmoore passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in the United Hospital Center.

She was born in Clarksburg on September 15, 1931, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Susan Hooper Hughes.

She was married to Nicholas Richison, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2009.

Surviving are one son, Jeff Richison and his wife Virginia of Anmoore; one daughter, Cindy Smallwood of Core, WV; three grandchildren, Michael Richison, Seth Smallwood and his significant other, Samantha Sapp, and Tawni Smallwood-Stevens and her husband Darnell; five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Leevi and Lakyn Smallwood and Labella and Makiyah Stevens; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by one brother Virgil Hughes and one sister, Genevieve Rush.

Mrs. Richison was a retired cook for the Harrison County Board of Education and served as a “Granny” at Norwood School. She was very popular and beloved by the students. Mary was also an avid Bingo player.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the WV National Cemetery with Reverend Brian Lamm officiating.
